October Artist Date

If you’ve ever read The Artist’s Way you’ve heard of the concept of taking yourself on artist dates which is basically the idea that it’s important to go out into the world and feed your creative soul. These days we can find so much inspiration at our fingertips just by scrolling but I’m a firm believer that seeing art in person is a much different and more powerful experience.

Last week I took myself down to the beautiful Smith and Vallee Gallery in Edison to see the gorgeous landscape paintings of Julie Devine. Her use of color, especially yellow, had me swooning.

As a bonus I got to see my good friend Nicki Lang who also happens to be the Curator there as in addition to being an incredible artist herself.
